SUMMARY:Concerto Competition
DESCRIPTION:Time and location to be determined.\nA competition among students for a concerto performance at the spring concert will be held at mid-year and are open to Youth Orchestra members only. Due to rehearsal restrictions, pianists are not eligible. This is an incredible opportunity for a student to play a solo in front of a student orchestra and is a friendly competitive process.  Repertoire must be approved by the conductor before applying. Participants are responsible for hiring an accompanist during the competition. Upon completion of the application ( https://goo.gl/forms/ffzC2eE9w8g61w7P2 ), a $10.00 fee and a copy of the student’s audition music will be due by December 4, 2023. No late applications will be accepted.\nThe competition is judged by professional musicians not affiliated with our ensembles. Students not selected for the concerto performance may be invited by the YO conductor to play in the Chamber Ensemble Concert.\n
